Workshop: Introduction to TRE®

Description: TRE® Workshop 

This workshop is for anyone who experiences anxiety, depression, pain, trouble sleeping, or other symptoms of nervous system dysregulation. No experience is required. 

We will begin with education on TRE &  polyvagal chart. We’ll gently fatigue your legs, then lie down on mats to facilitate the neurogenic tremor. We’ll have 3 rounds of shakes with 2 rests followed by an integration rest. 

Bring a small pillow, water, and socks. 

This workshop is not recommended for anyone who recently had a pregnancy-related surgery. 

A private session is recommended instead of a group workshop for anyone with a diagnosis of CPTSD 

About TRE:

TRE® is a simple, gentle, and profound technique that facilitates the lengthening and relaxation of the psoas muscle and the release of physical and emotional tension and stress. The TRE exercises mildly tire the legs, triggering an involuntary shaking and trembling response, which begins in the legs and often spreads throughout the body. This natural response is the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension and unconscious body contraction caused by everyday stress and traumatic life experiences in order to restore the body to wholeness.

Laureen is a native New Orleanian. She has over 20 years of experience as a PT assistant & former group fitness instructor. She acquired her Viniyoga/Hatha certification in 2015, which has led her to her most recent certifications in TRE, Reiki healing, & lymphatic work focusing on trauma/nervous system healing. Laureen is the owner of Cosmic Karma. She facilitates workshops, private/group yoga classes, & TRE sessions in Mandeville & NOLA. She creates a safe & supportive environment as she leads her classes with compassion & ease.
